The Switch Up

Haris Ahmed is a rising freshman in high school, fixated on one career path: Law. Heading into his freshman year, he elects to take a Computer Science class as a toss-up to fill a spot on his schedule. All while, he starts participating in extracurriculars to set himself up for success as a future lawyer, however, he quickly comes to learn about the constant disconnect he feels. Growing up in a brown household, he had been shown the way for the traditional version of “success.” Though, from realizing how the expectations of society do not need to dictate his future, Haris slowly yet surely starts to find his own path in the vast world of technology. By taking a chance on a class, he discovers himself wanting to learn more and more about the world of coding, leading him to experience new adventures he couldn’t have dreamt about as a kid. From spending a summer at Google’s Headquarters to starting his own tech-startup, Haris begins transforming his big ambitions into reality.
