I am thrilled to be this books first reviewer! As a child my parents often let us kids choose a Little Golden Book from the spinner rack at the grocery store. When i married and had my own children I continued this tradition and have a large collection (current&vintage) that family and friends enjoy. When i happened to see this newest Golden book title I was happily excited to add it to our library. This biography is nicely told, i left the book out and everyone picked it up! It has moved around the house to bedtime already. My family is especially appreciative and grateful to our #44 President (and his VP Biden) who easily won election two terms for their many accomplishments. My spouse and I worked years commuting long hours back and forth to a big American city. We saved and had dreams of retiring but often worried about health insurance policies for our family. I always assured my spouse that when the time came, if it was a major concern for us, surely many millions of other Americans would be in the same boat. However years went by and politician’s were not doing anything until this wonderful President had the hope and change we needed to end lifetime caps and refusing coverage. Although its a ‘little’ Golden book, i believe adults and children will find the biography inspiring…his birth, childhood and family love for Hawaii, law study, meeting Michelle, work for civil rights, to Senator and President. He lifted the lives up for so many in America and encouraged people around the world to help each other, improve economy, health and our planet. Although my personal favorite is vintage illustrator Eloise Wilkin, i found the bright dynamic illustrations in this book reflected the Presidents energy (and famous great smile) very well. An uplifting and well done Little Golden Book!

I read the entire book in less than 5 minutes and bought it as a collector’s item. They only had one page on what he did as president, which was disappointing. The drawings are adorable.

Obviously I’m a bit biased because Barack Obama is my favorite President. He wasn’t perfect but I definitely miss him. This is a wonderful book for children.
